Should I Take A Lie Detector / Polygraph Test if I am asked to do so by the police or law enforcement?
If criminal investigators ask you to take a polygraph test, it’s safe to assume that they are trying to gather evidence, usually against you. You are not under a legal obligation to take a polygraph test during a criminal investigation. If law enforcement tells you that you have to, or threatens to arrest you if you refuse – you DO NOT have to take a lie detector test.
